I do believe in jinxes. I almost never tell anyone that I'm about to have something published. I wait until it is published or else it might not happen. It's occurred to me before.
So I'm not crazy? Some people in my writing groups tell all. When I do that everything falls through.
I talk about it, but not too much. If people start to get TOO interested, I'll downplay it and try to change the topic. I DO believe in jinxes. :)
With querying, I keep emphasizing the rejections so people won't ask too many questions.
